Rain---At Last!

It was wonderful hearing thunder coming our way this afternoon. My garden certainly was ready for a good dousing. Unfortunately, it has already passed. I do hope more is on the way.

Got Through Mini-Surgery this Morning

Had surgery (removal of melanoma in situ) on my left forearm this morning. It was that dang sun as a child that created the tissue chaos! All went smoothly though. The prep took longer than the surgery. Most important, I should have no residual problems.

Now I am back home and continuing to move along with my web site. I have it completely built; I just have to publish it now. That step looks fairly easy to do, especially since I'm going to use the host for the web package.

Have a great weekend,

Dawn

Soon My New Web Site Will Be Up and Running

This blog works very nicely. Now I'm in the process of building a web site. I'd started one a couple of weeks ago; however, I could not get the information I wanted to place on it to work with the web host. Hence, I am building another one. My domain name hooked up just fine but nothing else.

Have a great weekend.

A Neophye to the Tech World and Learning Fast!

In my very first posting in my blog, I had no idea how to insert a link into my text other than what you see above---yes, the whole bloody link!

After testing how to handle doing it in an email, it surprised me when it worked. Then I had to figure out how to do it in my blog. As you can see, I discovered one little icon clearly named "link," and worked it out there too. Now you can enter Amazon without having to glare at all the numbers and symbols.

Have a great day.

At Last

I am absolutely excited! Simultaneously, I am relieved as well. Finally, my second novel, Never Give Up, is now on Amazon's Kindle If you wish, you can click on this website and it will pop up: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Dawn+Klemme+Ross&x=12&y=15

I am now in the process of revising my first novel which I entitled Scarabs Among the Ruins. That title is susceptible to change since Never Give Up was once entitled Beyond the Mist.

Never Give Up was just placed on Amazon for purchase this last Saturday evening around 9 P.M. At that time, the description was not included; however, it is as of this writing. Now I'd like to share my story with you about the cover.

I designed it myself. Obviously, I am so proud to have accomplished that feat; however, I have had considerable practice with publishing our yearly high school Newsletter. Now to the story of the tree on the cover.

When I shot the photo with my digital this spring, I was driving home from my hometown of Watertown, WI, about 35 miles west of where I live in Holy Hill. At that time, the tree was just in the budding stage. By now all the shoots in the cover are green with many leaves. That beautiful tree (in my eyes), I had tuned into for sometime since after it fell, it simply refused and still refuses to give up. But will my male and female main characters in Never Give Up do the same?

My dream has come true, especially since I've had it since high school when I took an English class with an excellent instructor. Now here is the description:

Network reporter Jay Holmes assigned to cover the war in Iraq returns home to Boston a sick, broken man. With his boss's approval, Jay heads to Florida’s Gulf coast to put his life back together. Following a family tragedy and confronted with a cheating husband, Syndicated Medical Columnist Taylor Ryes flees to Florida from Chattanooga and seeks comfort from her friend Eliza. Jay and Taylor's paths cross briefly at Tampa International. But the next week, under odd circumstances, they meet again. From that moment on, Taylor finds herself drawn to Jay as a friend. Jay, on the other hand, cannot seem to shake her from his mind but does not want to intrude into her life. Even though Taylor dates Owen, a local electrician with a successful business, she and Jay do grow very close—close as two people can who, despite the twists and turns in their lives, would travel anywhere in the world to help each other. But their relationship changes in this riveting, compelling novel as they unravel a dreadful secret Taylor's parents withheld from her. Will they survive that secret?
